This is my lovely sister Jaime. Most of you know her and can agree, she is drop dead gorgeous. You can't tell from this picture though, because she is trying to escape me while I photograph her so she can be the star of this post. She's a wee bit camera-shy. But look at that lovely long dark hair. And that stunning profile. Yes, even from the backside (or maybe especially from the backside...) She is beautiful.
Ok, enough of that. Now, to her love story.
Are you excited? Me too.
Jaime doesn't want to get married in this life. She's betrothed to a stripling warrior, they're going to be sealed in the next life. At least, that's what she likes to say.
But guess what?
I have met her stripling warrior.
He is a hunk.
And a spiritual giant.
Let me introduce you:
We like to call him Wayney-poo.
You might remember him from before... He and Jaime went to Jr. Prom together.
You can see why we like him.
Duh.
They met in the home ward, he moved in when they were both 12.
They were secretly in love the whole time, but neither of them realized it until several weeks ago, so they pretended they were just buds. Mostly thanks to lots of nudging from the older sisters, they discovered their unrequited passion. After all, what are sisters for?
Anyway, it wasn't great timing.
He entered the MTC on Wednesday, headed for the Chile Vina del Mar mission.
Jaime is very sad and lonely.
Comfort in the form of sugar would be greatly appreciated.
Please stay tuned for the next two years for updates on the love story that never ends....
**Jaime would like me to note that she does not endorse this message**
CHAOS [key-os]. Noun. any confused, disorderly mass; the infinity of space or formless matter supposed to have preceded the existence of the ordered universe. ZION [zahy-uhn]. Noun. A religious or spiritual center; heaven as the final gathering place of true believers.

Gosh thanks, mom.
Inspirational thought from my mother today:
"If you're ever thinking that everyone's better than your or smarter than you, just remember that you were the fastest, strongest sperm."
Happy Birthday to me :)

Quote Hog
I love good quotes! I collect them.
This girl always has beautiful ones, which is part of the reason I stalk her blog.
She introduced me to Hafiz, a Persian poet who lived from 1320-1390.
Here are some of his quotes:
This place where you are right now,
God circled on a map for you.
Now
That
All your worry
Has proved such an
Unlucrative
Business,
Why
Not
Find a better
Job.
One regret, dear world,
That I am determined not to have
When I am lying on my deathbed
Is that
I did not kiss you enough.
I should not make any promises right now,
But I know if you
Pray
Somewhere in this world -
Something good will happen.
And my personal favorite
"I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness
the astonishing light of your own being"

I will be 21 in 22 days. (And that picture doesn't have a whole lot to do with this post except that it looks celebratory. Also I love her face)
I realized today that I've been thinking of the age of 21 as a kind of death.
Mostly because being 21 will mean being a missionary
And since I can't seem to mentally prepare myself for what that will feel like,
I imagine I will probably be dead by then.
Am I making any sense?
It was the same thing with college.
I always said I was going to go to college
But as the time approached, I decided college was something everyone ELSE did
And I would probably never make it.
Something would happen before college came along, to save me from going through with it.
Life would come to a standstill. So I could get off.
And wave at everyone else as they passed.
But I learned very quickly that life doesn't stop for anyone.
And it only slows down when you don't want it to
Like during my two-hour block classes right before lunch.
I'm sure before I know it I'll be wearing the badge
And then somehow I'll be home again.
A return missionary and a graduate
just like that.
Still alive, still me, just older.
Anyway, my 21st birthday is just barreling towards me.
21 in 22 days.
Time to start ordering my birthday gifts ;)
